  • Less demand for heavy machinery on the job site.

  • Ability to earn more bids that require lightweight concrete or an out of level floor to be leveled before a leveler / floor system can be installed.
  • Just add water, no special foaming equipment needed.

The initial set time is ~70 - 110 minutes in lab conditions. Job site conditions may have an impact on set times.  It also has an extended working time to improve ease of use on jobsites!

  • Easy to pump, place and finish
  • Tremendous weight savings
  • Sold as ready-to-mix bags for convenient mixing and job-site management or as lightweight extenders to reduce the weight of cement based products

We have not yet invested in the UL fire rating test. Other similar Spex•Crete™ Ultra Lightweight Underlayment products have been tested and rated as ASTM E84 Class A certified for Fire & Smoke. Foam Board, the typical offset to this product, is not UL approved for fire either.

For comparison, please see this video we did demonstrating how well Spex•Crete™ Ultra Lightweight Underlayments perform when subjected to fire. https://youtu.be/m73hdKhevno?si=gzD6CwDejCeU8vAt&t=71
